Parents, Guardians, and Community Partners,

On behalf of the entire Killarney Junior High School community it is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to the 2011-2012 school year.

Located in Northeast Edmonton, Killarney serves students from across North Edmonton and welcomes grade seven students from fifteen different elementary schools. Serving a diverse cultural and social-economic population, Killarney offers a regular English program as well as the Arabic Bilingual and Logos Christian Alternative programs. Regardless of the program, the families that choose Killarney can count on a strong academic program in an environment where each student is expected to strive for excellence and be a positive, contributing member of our community.

As the principal at Killarney Junior High School, I am committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment where students and teachers alike are encouraged to take risks and strive to be the very best that they can be. Our parents and community members entrust us to develop the leaders and dreamers of tomorrow. This is a grave responsibility and one that the staff at Killarney take on with enthusiasm and diligence.

Killarney Junior High School has adopted the school motto of ACE. Staff and students work relentlessly with a focus on strong Academics, Character development, and Excellence in everything they do. Killarney students are expected to be actively engaged in all that they do. Students are encouraged to be active participants both in the classroom and in the variety of extra curricular clubs and teams offered at the school. Student athletes, artists, and leaders will all find activities to exercise their body and their mind. This school wide emphasis on academics, character, and excellence supports our work as we continue to develop 21^st century learners.

Killarney Junior High School is a community school that values the relationships that we have with our parent volunteers and community partners. Student growth is enhanced through these partnerships and with the relationships that we continue to build. Parents and community members alike are encouraged to visit our school to see Kodiak pride first hand.
