    New student Registration 2023/2024


    For the 2023-2024 school year, Killarney school is full in planned classes in Grade 9 in the regular, Arabic Bilingual and Academic Enrichment programs. We will no longer be accepting enrolment requests in Grade 9 in the Arabic Bilingual and Academic Enrichment programs. For the regular program, in Grade 9, we will now only accept resident students who have newly moved into the school's attendance area. A resident student of  Edmonton Public Schools has at lease one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enroll in another division school with space in planned classes. enrolment requests for these grade levels in this program.

    Killarney Junior High School takes pride in offering an innovative, educational experience that meets the needs of our diverse population. Through partnerships with the community, parents, and all stakeholders we aim to remove barriers to learning so every student can reach their highest level of success. We believe that by working together we can ease the transition from junior high to high school completion. By working in a highly collaborative environment within our school and catchment area, our teachers are equipped to meet the needs of our diverse learner population. When student leave Killarney they will have gained the skills necessary to collaborate, reflect, persevere, and become productive, engaged citizens.

We would like to acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree, Saulteaux (So-toe), Blackfoot, Métis, Dene (De-nay) and Nakota Sioux (Sue). We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.

Welcome to Killarney Junior High School 

Killarney School is a positive and caring school that values the relationships we have with our students, our families and our school community.  We have high expectations of our students and challenge them to be the best they can be academically, physically, socially and emotionally.

As a staff team, we work collaboratively towards a common approach, and we are united in our commitment to ensure that our working and learning environment feels safe, welcoming, caring, and respectful.  We are also committed to ensuring our students learn the critical skills and understandings necessary for leading a life of dignity and fulfillment. 

Parents and guardians will receive information related to special school events, meetings, and other information via SchoolZone.epsb.ca.  SchoolZone also gives families access to school information, progress reports, attendance information and specific classroom news.  If you require a password for SchoolZone, or assistance with using it, please contact the office.
