Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

It is time for another school year and we are excited with all of the upgrades and changes to our school. Please be patience with the process because our school will be finishing up construction projects this fall. Even though there is work to do in our building, you can be rest assured that our staff is ready and willing to provide excellent instruction and support for all our students.

On behalf of the staff, I would like to welcome those of you who are new to our school community this year and look forward to meeting all of you throughout the year.

Our school is located in Northeast Edmonton and serves families from across North Edmonton and from fifteen different elementary schools. Serving a diverse cultural and socio-economic population, Killarney offers a regular English program, an Honours cohort as well as the Arabic Bilingual programming. Regardless of the program, the families that choose Killarney can count on an environment where each student is expected to strive for excellence and be a positive, contributing member of our community.

Killarney Junior High School has adopted the school motto of ACE. Staff and students work relentlessly with a focus on strong Academics, Character development, and Excellence in everything they do. Students are encouraged to be active participants both in the classroom and in the variety of extracurricular clubs and teams offered at the school. Student athletes, artists, and leaders will all find activities to exercise their body and their mind. This school wide emphasis on academics, character, and excellence supports our work as we continue to focus on high quality learning environments for all of our students.

Killarney Junior High School promotes and values the relationships that we have with our parent volunteers and community partners. Student growth is enhanced through these partnerships and with the relationships that we continue to build. Parents and community members alike are encouraged to visit our school to see Kodiak pride first hand.

If you ever need to speak with me or any of our staff members, please call the office or come by the school and we would be happy to engage with you. Together, we will succeed in offering the best educational environment and opportunities for all Killarney students.
